Your Responsibilities as an Installer

When you purchase products it is important for you to understand that the product has passed the technical product requirements and also it is compliant with the relevant UK legislation and meets safety requirements as required by the Construction Products Regulations.

Installation of Bathroom Products under the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 2009 for Northern Ireland and Scottish Water Byelaws 2014 is essential to ensuring water safety. Contravention may lead to prosecution. The product must meet specific performance requirements under these regulations and products may also be required to carry a CE mark.

It is an offence to install product incorrectly and also to ensure there is no risk from installation being incorrect and use of inferior or illegal materials that could contaminate supply.

It is the installers responsibility to ensure that work is carried out to regulations and it is an offence to install products not conforming to a CE mark where that product is required to carry the CE mark. It is also the installers responsibility to check local water authority requirements for installation.
